As we near the August 1st deadline for Governor Inslee’s eviction moratorium and the end of the $600 a week federal unemployment benefit, many rental property owners face an unknown fate. This is causing stress for the small “mom and pop” landlords throughout the area as well as the tenants that rent from them.

We wanted to share important news the Rental Housing Association of Washington (RHAWA) has been lobbying the State of Washington to free up funds they have in their coffers from the CARES Act to provide rental assistance to those in need. The goal of this approach is to keep the rental market viable. This would not only help the rentals but keep the income flowing to the property owners they rent from. We fully support this approach. It is recommended that you reach out to your local state lawmakers and share your support as well.
