A quarterly review of your goals can help you achieve them

Do you feel like your goals are out of sight and out of mind? This can be a common issue for many. With so many things to do, it can be difficult to keep track of what needs to get done. That’s why we’re going to talk about how quarterly reviews will help you stay on top of your game.

What are your goals for the next 3 months?

Now that we’re in the second quarter, it’s time to think about where you want your business/life to be in the next 3 months. What do you hope for? Do you have any goals or plans for what the next few months might look like? Write down some notes on what you’d like to achieve. Even if your goals are the same as they were at the beginning of the year, it’s a great idea to write them all down again.

How will you know if you’re on track to achieve those goals?

It’s important to be honest with yourself about what has and hasn’t been done so far in achieving your goal for the year. The first step is determining what needs to happen before December 31st, which can be difficult because it forces you to think about work that isn’t being completed now or may not even get started until later in the year.

Then, determine how much progress has been made toward completing these tasks and compare it with the amount of time they have left before December 31st. If many tasks haven’t been completed yet, then focus on them one at a time

What is one strategy that has been working well for you lately?

One strategy that may be working well to reach your goals is setting quarterly and yearly targets. Targets are a great way to measure progress, help you stay motivated, and avoid getting overwhelmed with the big picture. Review the goals you have met and what you did to meet them. Again, record this in a document so you have a record of what’s working.

Is there anything that’s not going as planned and what can be done about it?

Perhaps you have fear of success or failure, a lack of goal-setting processes, lost motivation, or analysis paralysis. Write down what’s not going the way you want it to and come up with solutions to improve your performance. Maybe you need to reassess the goal in question.

What are some things that have surprised or challenged you in the last 3 months?

Have you felt a lack of creativity? Do you suffer from imposter syndrome or get distracted by shiny objects? Focusing on what might be holding you back may lead to a surprise result in the end. You can create ways to get around obstacles.

Or, you could be crushing it and that’s a total surprise. Celebrate your wins and keep that momentum going. Once again, keeping a journal to monitor your goals and quarterly reviews, can be a vital tool in staying on track.
